1st Büren marble run at the October Market 2024
On the weekend of September 27 to 30, Büren celebrates the October market with a special attraction: the 1st Büren marble run!
Nine companies invite young and old visitors to the market to take part. Tricky ball track sections, some up to eight meters long and individually designed by the companies, adorn Burgstraße.
These nine companies have designed their own creative tracks:
- Metallbauer Fischer EKF: Movable ball labyrinth
- Hüser and Michels joinery: Multi-track, changeable wooden track.
- Evers Bauen und Wohnen: Track made of different materials from the construction sector.
- Trenovo staircase systems: Reproduction of the rivers Alme and Afte.
- Marketing agency ProjectPartner Kleeschulte: Interactive "Lucky Snake" course made of movable tubes and obstacles for competitions.
- Gärtnerei Lammers from Steinhausen: Ball track made of plant tables with attractive plants.
- Heinrichs joinery from Hegensdorf: classic large marble run.
- Neesen Schlüsselfertigbau: Unusual track representing the trades involved in building a house.
- ASM Steuerungstechnik from Haaren: Customizable track that can be pulled up using ASM chain hoists.
Burgstrasse with its gradient is an excellent location for the ball track. It will not only enhance the appearance of the fairground mile, but the technical implementation is also possible without any problems due to the given topography.
"There has never been such a combination of individual ball tracks before, especially not at a funfair. Büren has created a novelty that is guaranteed to attract more than just the young October market visitors," explains initiator Dirk Kleeschulte from the marketing agency ProjectPartner. Kleeschulte himself had the vision for the ball tracks and inspired the companies to take part. For the year 2025, he has already indicated that some companies have already shown interest in taking part again next year.
The 35mm wooden balls can be purchased during the October market in the following stores for one euro each - in some stores, the balls can also be customized:
